About Ian

Ian Cameron is a Chartered Surveyor, Licensed Valuer and experienced property professional with more than 15 years experience across commercial valuation, lease advisory, asset management and natural capital markets throughout Australia and the United Kingdom. A member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and Australian Property Institute, Ian’s expertise spans a wide range of asset classes including residential, prestige residential, commercial, office, retail, medical, industrial and rural assets.

Combining deep technical valuation expertise with strong financial modelling capability and strategic commercial insight, Ian provides clients evidence-based advice that connects technical analysis with real-world investment solutions. He assists with complex valuation strategy, lease performance, portfolio optimisation and asset management across a broad range of asset classes.

Ian’s diverse professional background spans valuation, business operations, commercial leasing, tenant advocacy and natural capital advisory, giving him a unique and comprehensive understanding of how property businesses operate commercially from acquisition and valuation through to investor reporting, strategic planning and long-term asset performance.

Beginning his career in accounting with Nexia before transitioning into commercial valuation with Hegney Property Group, Ian delivered valuation advice across office, retail and industrial sectors throughout Western Australia. He later moved to the United Kingdom where he held senior advisory and leadership positions with Cushman & Wakefield, Daniel Watney LLP and Carter Jonas, advising institutional landlords, tenants, developers and asset managers on valuation strategy, lease negotiations, rent reviews and portfolio performance across a wide range of property sectors.

In recent years, Ian has become recognised for his work in natural capital and environmental markets, advising governments, institutional investors and landowners on the intersection between carbon markets, biodiversity projects and rural land valuation. As an Independent Consultant commissioned by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Ian developed global valuation guidance relating to carbon markets and their impact on rural economies and land values.

He has also been invited as a subject matter expert to the Scottish Government Agriculture & Rural Economy Directorate and has presented at a number of international forums including the World Built Environment Forum, RICS Rural Conference and Global Land & Property Conference. His expertise in natural capital valuation, combined with his background in commercial property and strategic operations, positions him at the forefront of emerging environmental and investment trends within the property industry.
